Ranking

17 models, best first. Each bar compares a model with the rest of this list: the best on every point would score 100.

Scores reward a low price per watt-hour, high output, room to expand and long warranties, all as the makers state them. They don't measure real-world efficiency, noise or app quality, so use them to shortlist, then read the model pages.

How the score works

Weights: price per wh 30, ac output 25, max with extra batteries 25, warranty 20

Weights

  1. 30

Price per Wh, lower is better.

  2. 25

    AC output, higher is better.

  3. 25

Max with extra batteries, higher is better.

  4. 20

    Warranty, higher is better.

Steps

  1. 1

Each criterion is scaled from 0, the worst of these 17 models, to 1, the best. For price per wh, lower is better, so the lowest value scores 1.

  2. 2

Each scaled value is multiplied by its weight, and the results are added up to a score out of 100. Models with the same score share a rank.

  3. 3

A model is ranked only if it has its own page here and a value for every criterion.

Who is ranked

This list covers 17 power stations that state every spec it needs: price, capacity, AC output, maximum capacity with extra batteries and a warranty in years. Price per Wh carries the most weight at 30 percent. AC output and maximum expandable capacity count 25 percent each. Warranty is the last 20 percent. Warranty is the standard term from each maker's page, so a longer term that needs registration is not counted.

What stands out

The Anker SOLIX S5000 ranks first at $2,499.99 with 5,024 Wh, 4,500 W of AC output, up to 30,000 Wh with extra batteries and a 5-year warranty. That price is a launch special, and the unit ships in 7 to 8 weeks. The Oukitel BP5000 Pro Max is second at $1,899 with 5,120 Wh and 5,000 W, but it has a 1-year standard warranty.

The Anker SOLIX F3000 is third at $1,699.99 with 3,072 Wh and 3,600 W. The BLUETTI Elite 200 V2 is fourth at $899. It cannot be expanded, so its 2,073.6 Wh is the full capacity. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra is fifth at $1,299 with 3,072 Wh, and its page lists a transfer switch option. Several prices here are sale prices and may change.

How to use this list

Add up the watts of the items you want to run, then pick a unit whose AC output covers them. A licensed electrician installs a transfer switch or panel, so do not wire a house through an outlet. For the background on capacity, see this explanation of the watt-hour. If solar matters more, see the solar ranking. On a budget, try the under $1,000 list.
